BIO: Jack, affectionately called "one eyed Jack" came into care as a very young pup, born with only one eye but an exuberant nature! He had been in many homes and needed that perfect home that would allow him to be the best version of himself. He did need some medical rehabilitation for his eye, to make sure he wouldn't develop problems in the future.
2020 UPDATE: Thanks to BSR for Jack's “gotcha day” card. He’s been with us 3 years and turns 4 in a few days.
We adopted Jack when he was 11 months old. He had been adopted and returned due to the first owner's allergies, and initially he was feeling very unsure of everything, and he had separation anxiety. But he settled in with us and as such a young pup, he needed LOTS of exercise to burn off all that Boykin boy energy!
We live on a lake so he swims everyday in warm weather and walk/runs about 5 miles in the winter. 1 eye hasn’t stopped him a bit except for an occasional bump into something on his blind side. He can retrieve, dock dive and chase a ball just like his 2 eyed cousins....Life is good!
